IlluminArt Theatre Club

Picture
The club is open to different grades and different classes will be offered. Some focus on learning basic theatre skills, exploring improvisation, techniques to build characters and giving artists an opportunity to express themselves in creative ways. Each session will introduce fun theatre games and we also hope to build community for the students of Staten Island and from various schools.

Teaching artists all have extensive experience teaching theatre and improv, devising and directing theatre productions, and working with youth.

Designing Through the Decades: Costuming
Grades: 4th-12th

Costumes are more than just the pretty clothes a character wears, but a key to your character and the world around them. A look into their wardrobe allows us a look into their mood, mind, decade, living situation, and relationship with themselves. Through "Designing Through The Decades" we will not only explore costumes in theater, but learn about fashion trends of the last two thousand years, the power of color, line, accessories and how to draw your own designs.
