for middle and high school audiences.

Did you know that Staten Island, NY has the highest rate of teenage binge drinking and the 2nd highest rate of adult binge drinking in New York City?
Truth in Excess, IlluminArt’s original play, brings these and other alarming statistics to light thanks to a grant from the Centers for Disease Control administered by the Fund for Public Health in New York. Students at Susan E. Wagner High School learned about the hidden harms of alcohol and have written this play guided by teaching artists Randy Topper and Gerrianna Cardito. They even wrote a song parody that helps us imagine what else could be done with the $14 billion which is spent annually on cleaning up the effects of binge drinking in New York State. |
