Playwriting, Technique, Collaboration & Teamwork
Students of any age and ability can learn to creatively express themselves through dialogue that becomes a short play.
The various activities provided by the
Write-A-Play program are designed not only to be a unique learning experience, but also provide the opportunity for students to exhibit understanding through exploration, communication, and expression that is not always possible within the daily routine and classroom setting.
In keeping with IlluminArt’s mission to educate and enlighten, topics incorporated into scenes focus on social, emotional, and character building such as self-awareness, self-management, interpersonal skills, positive life skills and character traits. The short plays are then combined with songs and dances that delight and impress their peers, family and friends.
IlluminArt teaching artists conduct classroom residencies tailored to each school and after-school programs.
